| Tunis Sports City mega project Construction on the $5 billion Tunis Sports City mega project will begin in 2007 and is slated for completion in 2012. Tunisian President Zine El Abidine Ben Ali met with project contractor Bukhater of the UAE on Monday (September 25th). The 250-hectare complex will include tennis courts, outdoor and indoor Olympic-sized swimming pools, a multi-event stadium for 5,000 spectators, a football stadium with a 20,000-person capacity, and five five-star hotels. The project is expected to create around 40,000 new jobs. |
